Carnival of Personal Finance #86 Has Arrived!

Posted by david | February 5, 2007

Trent over at The Simple Dollar has put together a great Carnival of Personal Finance this week. Some highlights?

Five Cent Nickel discusses ways to save the planet and save money on utilities. I am a sucker for environmental posts, so this one gets top billing.

Money, Matter & More Musings looks at the psychology surrounding rebates and how companies put hurdles in your way to redeeming them.

Blogging Away Debt talks about the personal satisfaction that comes with the security of having some savings versus having all of the consumer goods that advertisers say we must have.

Queercents discusses the self-storage phenomenon and why people pay to store their unused stuff.

Consumerism Commentary wants to know if he will be able to make all his payments this year.

The Digerati Life looks at the question “Do Rich People Really Give Less?”.

And thanks to Trent at The Simple Dollar for including my post “Making The Financial Sacrifice To Get What You Want“.

textimage.gif“Another loan provider is Zopa. A short term loan can be found at Wonga - who offer an alternative to a payday loan. Don’t borrow what you can’t afford and get debt help before it’s too late.”

    Thanks for the mention :)

Congrats on not loosing your money on the Bears :), and if you rub it in too much, you are going to sleep on the couch pretty soon :)

You are not kidding. I stopped talking about it last night as she was getting mad at me for making fun of their quarterback so much!

Thanks for including me here :). You guys talk about sports again? Funny, I forgot what the weekend was actually until I saw the newspaper later last night. I guess I’m just not a team sports type!

You didnt really miss anything Digerati, the game was a Colts blow out. I didnt care for either team so it was a let down for me as well!

It may have ended up a Colts blow out, but it sure didn’t start that way!

    Good selection of links, david.

Grant, it almost looked like we had a game at the beginning! Thanks for the comment.
