Yea, freecycle is where we put things that just are not worth the hassle of selling. We did however give a bike to a woman that wanted it for her husband when he got back from Iraq, which was nice. I am glad we did not sell that one. Good luck cleaning out the house AgentSully!

Great inspiration. I need to do this. I'm long overdue.

Another place to give away stuff that doesn't sell is through Freecycle.org.

Not sure if you've blogged about them yet, but you register and join a local group. It's done through Yahoo groups. It's an online exchange group for giving and receiving free stuff. I have a friend who has gotten many great toys for her kids, a used working piano, and a car! (the car needed work, but hey if you know how to fix a car...)

Tanyetta

Avoiding writeoffs alone will not cause nor prevent audits. They look at everything. But at this page at the IRS site, you can get a lot more info than I know about!
