Oh no Stephanie…that is terrible. I would get pet insurance, but since writing this article I found out I could get accident only coverage on our cat because of his age, and that just doesn’t make much sense.

My Black Labrador ate 26 hot dogs, a loaf of bread, and a bag of hot dog buns a couple weeks ago – the subsequent vet bills have topped $1500. Yeah, I’ve been thinking about how nice pet insurance would have been…

Pet insurance may be a good idea, but it won’t cover most things including periodic vet visits and won’t usually cover dental at all. I found this out recently with one cat and $600 in vet bills, so far, and the vet wants to see him again in a month. There’s another $100 not covered by pet insurance.

Oh my gosh, $1000? I am so sorry, I guess everyone should think about Pet health insurance. Wow that’s a lot of money.
