To my knowledge they can&#039;t lay her off even for bad performance.  I&#039;m just throwing it out there that there are some guarantees.  Because her income can support the two of us (and mine can do the same even if they can find a loophole and lay her off), a full emergency plan is not of the highest priority for us.</description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>My wife is with the military.
