Don’t Throw Away Your IKEA Furniture, Just Refurbish And Recover It!

OK I will admit it”¦we have a few pieces of IKEA furniture in our house. There, I said it. A lot of people think IKEA furniture is crappy, and considering some of their pieces, they might be right. But we have some solid pieces that have lasted us years and I don’t replace things that are working perfectly fine. Back in college we used to call it “disposable furniture” but a lot of their items have gotten a lot better since then. If you are looking to furnish your house inexpensively and still be “in-style” IKEA might be for you. But that’s not what this post is about.

I just came across a site this week that sells slipcovers for most popular IKEA sofas and chairs. The company is called Bemz and they have a ton of different fabrics and materials available for that IKEA couch you have been contemplating getting rid of. Why get rid of it and spend a fortune on a new one when you can make it look as good as new? If you are tired of your living room looking like one of those sample rooms in the store, you might want to take a look at what they have. Here is what the company has to say:

“Bemz is a Stockholm, Sweden-based company that sells removable, washable slipcovers for sofas, armchairs and cushions. We sell them direct to consumers via the internet. Currently, these products are available to fit the most popular models of IKEA sofas and chairs.

Bemz has chosen to focus on one specific competitive advantage- we will offer our customers a unique product that they could not get any other way in the market today. Because we sell our products exclusively on the internet we are able to offer you “custom made” products. This means that you, as the customer, will own a unique, “individually” made product, plus we are able to offer you an extensive selection of products at prices which are very competitive.”

Please note I am not saying that everything in IKEA is crappy”¦I like the look of a lot of their furniture and like I mentioned, we have some of their pieces in our place. If we had any of their sofas or chairs I would definitely take advantage of these covers. I wish I had thought of the idea, it seems like a brilliant concept. And no, they didn’t pay me to write this, I just think it’s a fantastic idea!
