Money Quote Friday - What The Hell Happened To The Red Sox Edition.
To all you Yankees fans, nicely done this month. What was once an 11.5 game Red Sox lead over you has been reduced to 1.5. Of course, October is coming so it is business as usual for my Sox. All year they have been kicking ass and now…Jeez. Anyway, I know this has nothing to do with finances, but I had to write it somewhere and you are the lucky ones who have to read it. In the spirit of the Yankees spending so much on their team, I leave you with this quote from Senator Everett Dirksen:
“A billion here, a billion there, pretty soon it adds up to real money.”
Money can buy you a good team, as the Yankees can attest to. But it cannot buy you a good end to the regular season, as the Red Sox falter come every September no matter how much money they spend. Come on guys!
Have a good one everyone…

It was 14.5 ugh… I’ll be writing more about this tomorrow.

True, but it went from 5.5 to 1.5 like practically overnight.

It is not possible for me to have a good one, not when the Sox are doing their traditional playoffs-are-coming-everybody-panic dance of suckitude. Whenever I think about it, I am drowned in despair.
Thank god for the Pats. No, wait….

Very true Ellen, I should have said “Have a crappy one, Sox fans…”

Maybe the Red Sox can videotape some of the Yankee’s first base coach signals to gain an advantage

That’s pretty funny considering how bad the Patriots beat San Diego without the cameras.
