Now when I'm overworked or stressed out, I can just play a shooting game until I feel better. For me, I find that it's a better distraction than, say, reading a book, where I could easily let my mind wander back to whatever was stressing me out. And I have to think that the incredible reaction time required by some games (like Guitar Hero) is good for keeping my reflexes sharp. I have always thought that some of the skills required to be good at video games carry over nicely to real life. And yeah, my shoulders were sore after the first few days of playing tennis! We were visiting today when they fired it up and we had a blast. It's a great way to burn off all those Christmas calories. I liked it enough to offer to buy extra controllers for the family (no way they can afford it). I had a blast, unlike the usual games Wii is really a group activity. I really had a good time. I won't buy one myself as I'd never use it but gladly pick up some extra controllers for them as we visit regularly. That said for many ADULTS it's hard to find time to get a bunch of friends together and have the weather cooperate well enough to go outside. I think the Wii could fill the niche very nicely especially once they get their online capability up to snuff.
