I've used Wesabe for a while now and like it. I wasn't really aware of any of the others. I'm going to have to start comparing them!

I've used Mint.com and it didn't work with my bank USAA. It is listed, but after a week it stopped updating the transactions.

I've also used MySpendingPlan and was not impressed.

I'm currently using Quicken's free online software. It downloads transactions automatically from my accounts (hasn't stopped) and it also allows me to manually add transactions (mint.com doesn't.)

I'm curious to know why Kelly, or anyone else didn't like Quicken.

Has anyone used Rudder? I stumbled over it today, and the What's Left Calculator feature looks intriguing, but I'm not sure exactly how it works.

Thanks,

At themoneycase.com, we have also taken time to look at other online budgeting software. We agree that mint.com is lacking and appears to want to sell you new products every time you pay a bill.

Our software is simple and allows you a fair bit of flexibility tracking your own spending and is great for the beginner who is learning how to budget. For advanced budgeters you can also override the programmed recommended budget so that you can enter your own targets. You can put categories for savings, etc...

We plan to add more features soon where users can access their banking information and bill payments, mobile & PDA device access and other applications to if they choose.

Given that we are in the early stages of development we welcome new user feedback, in fact we are asking for it! So if anybody would like to try, stop by an sign up.

It is a free online software that is meant to be simple, easy but powerful enough to replace dated software such as quicken for everyday used by the average person for their daily finance.

thanks for a great post, David, and sparking some great conversation. I can't wait to go back to our programmers and start improving our site!
