If there’s one thing I despise…it’s moving. Hope all is well with you and that nothing gets broken or lost! At least you’ll get some good blog posts out of it…
I’ve had some things get “lost” as well. The problem with moving companies is that they rely on cheap labor and there is a ton of competition, which forces them to drive down their expenses and look at hiring cheaper and cheaper labor. It’s a vicious cycle.

If you DO decide to move yourself, get boxes at the liquor store. They’re sturdy, come in a lit of different sizes, and best of all–free. Plus the liquor stores usually have a lot of them to give away! A side benefit is the looks the neighbors give you when you’re unloading 400 boxes of liquor into your home. Priceless.

Moving is always a pain in the neck… I recommend taking a very good inventory of your goods, lots of pictures, and make sure you do another inventory of your goods once you arrive. I’ve had a few things disappear en route… A very ugly situation! But I hope your experience works out better for you!
