Has anyone divided $1.8 trillion by the population of taxpayers? Not the population as a whole, but by taxpayers.

$1,800,000,000,000 / 130,000,000 (give or take) = $13,846 each. That's like buying a new car and never getting to drive it.

THAT's a scary number. Add to it our $10 trillion federal debt and it gets really scary. You can't raise taxes high enough to cover that.

I think I'm going to go throw up now.

To be fair, and like him or not, it's not like he has much of a choice, really. How can bail out companies for $1.8 trillion, not raise taxes on everyone, and still pay for social programs? Unless everyone is OK with a tax raise (which I am), he is pretty much stuck between a rock and hard place. And as much as I dislike him, McCain kind of is as well for his ideas - he cannot continue to cut taxes with this going on, and he cannot continue to push for the deregulation he likes so much.

I already contacted them. I daresay they will listen to me anymore on this then they did on FISA(and yes, I convinced others to call them too). Warner is leaving and Webb, well Webb was a Washington insider before we made him an insider(although I daresay he is a little better than Allen).

It must have been hard today to hear that even Obama plans to put his spending plans geared towards helping average Americans behind a bailout for financial institutitions that didn't exercise fiscal responsibility. Not surprising. The only time average Americans are put first is when they DC is asking for money. Remind me again how Obama is different from McCain? Let's see he already said that he can't roll back the tax cuts and now stuff like spending on health care will have to be deferred so we can buy bad debt from banks. Yep, I sure do love our two party system. It's grand to choose between bad and worse. can we please have a third party already?
