Obtain different sizes of Mason jars. You can use them for canning, freezing leftovers, packing lunches, storing food bought from the bulk bins. We buy blocks of cheeses then grate them with a Kitchen Aid and freeze. Freezing straight broths causes jars to crack. We microwave the cold or frozen food directly in the jars. We make a blender full of smoothy and freeze in the small jars. We often take the frozen smoothy for a snack during the day.
Hi there! I was just linked to an old post about ING Direct’s savings accounts. I’m looking to open one up; you interested in a referral?

I use the internet and several sites to find discounts on items I will purchase. As well there are several sites that have freebies, been using those for years. If there is something some one else will use, I’ll sign up for it and give it to them.
One thing that I wrote on my blog today that might value to this post is to avoid the “sale trap.” In summary this theory tells people not to buy something just because it is on sale. Something that kills me because sometimes my Mom will come home with some usesless items, because they were on sale.

This is a good and comprehensive list! Can I add what I said in one of my articles? Use the equation: INCOME-SAVINGS = EXPENSES. In other words, treat savings as an expense. Set aside a fixed portion everytime you receive your paychecks.

This is a great post! I just found it. Definitely worth bookmarking!
I think most people would agree that saving money is something “easier said than done”. Personally, I believe it’s a mind-set that needs to be developed by creating good money-saving habits.
Here are some things I’ve done to help change my spending habits:
– Cooking more at home ? Eating out is very expensive especially if you do it a couple times a week
– Shopping online ? You can find better deals than in the store and you save on gas (I recommend http://www.shoptivity.com)
– Paying the full balance on credit cards each month ? Interest charge is like giving away free money
– Don’t forget to pay yourself ? Set up an online savings account (they pay higher interest than a normal savings account)
– Setting a budget and goals ? It’s good to have your goals written down so you see them everyday and don’t lose focus on your ultimate objectives
Again, saving money requires a lot of patience and hard work. However, you’ll thank yourself later on in life. Good luck everyone!! =)
Great ideas, now lets just see if I actually can.
Very useful. Best site. Big Big Thanks
