2 years ago, I found out I had lymphoma and leukemia, and I was in between jobs due to layoffs. Didn't get temporary insurance. I am also disabled, and work part time. Spent 65 days in the hospital after getting out of ER. $250,000 later...I have insurance now and I'm lucky to be alive, remission and fortunate ....Save, save, save for these emergencies.I was able to compromise and get discounted offers from hospitals and clinics, one botched surgery for pic line never had to be paid; work with them. Times are now tight, work with everyone!

Congratulations on the medical bills payoff. I understand what you mean about medical emergencies popping up one after the other. I recently had surgery.....and when I was almost done paying most of the bills....we found out that my mother had cancer.

I will be done with my medical bills in January....but there is a long road ahead with my mother's bills.

Congratulations! Health care expenses are an especially difficult and heartrending expense, but how can you cut corners on something you absolutely need? Like I've said on my own blog, some pennies aren't worth pinching. Again, congrats on paying that off!
