Sunday Money Roundup – Cracked Windshield Edition.

Turns out the insurance guy was right – we would end up with a cracked windshield within our first 6 months of living here! He called it, and now I have it. Luckily he convinced me to pay the extra $20 a year to have full windshield replacement coverage with no deductible, so I will be doing that next week. Best $20 I have ever spent! On to the roundup…

Paid Twice has Five Concrete Ways To Pay Yourself First. This should always be your top priority.

Money Ning talks about enrolling in a Dependent Day Care FSA. Interesting idea that I had not heard of, I guess cause I don’t have kids!

Cash Money Life talks about renting versus buying big-ticket items. I am all for renting things that only get used occasionally.

Squawkfox wants to know how much you tip. I generally tip 20% on the entire bill, as I know they usually can use the money.

Gather Little By Little has some tips for working from home. Seeing as how I have been doing this full time for over 2 years, I will add this to the list – take the time to enjoy the fact that you are working from home. Take an afternoon off in the middle of the week to do whatever you want. Most of the time I don’t work Fridays anymore, so I always get a 3 day weekend. It’s your schedule – make the most of it!

The Wisdom Journal has 7 ways to make a quick $500. Or, you could sell drugs for a day and make even more. Kidding.

Blueprint For Financial Prosperity has 100 Money Saving Tips for you to check out.

Being Frugal talks about the benefits of a cash Christmas. I could not agree more – we are paying cash for all gifts this year and if we don’t have enough to get everything, then we won’t be getting everything!

The Money Hawk wants you to stop lying to yourself about why you cannot save or invest.

Lazy Man & Money talks about evaluating gym memberships. While I can see the benefit of a gym for some, I just use the outdoors as my gym – which is free!

Thank you so much for the linky mention! The tipping post has really shown how regional differences and personal income taxes can influence how much a tip a waiter/server receives. Lots of heated debate. I’ve learned a lot.

I think our insurance coverage comes with one window replacement per year without a deductible. I know we can get it done free, but I just don’t remember how often… Thankfully I haven’t had to use it yet.

    Thanks for the mention.

  3. Thanks for the link David. Glad your windshield was covered. I’ll have to check into that rider!
