Haha, I love this. It’s funny, but there is definitely reality to this…I really think this mindset is what got us into the recession. Buy now, pay later, and living above your means.

Rich hit on reason #0: if we get a hyper-inflation the money will disappear anyway but I can sell my 60+ inch TV.

It’s funny, but it is indeed the way people think in some countries. In Russia, for example, there is increased buying of electronics and canned food now – not a huge increase yet, but more than normal – because some Russians worry that the savings may vanish as they did in 1998 but a TV can be sold.

Saving is for suckers. Everyone knows that the government is drastically under reporting inflation which means that any money in a savings account is losing way more than you think. So you might as well spend it now.

Oh, and for #8, the cash pays for the tv, but the couches and living expenses go on credit, duh.
