What is unfortunate is most people don&#039;t follow this advice until the economy is suffering. It&#039;s harder to find the motivation to pay down debt when you feel like you have to bolster cash in case you&#039;re laid off. 

Sad times, but hopefully we&#039;ll get a few new fiscal conservatives out of it.</description>
