I live in Arizona and your post reminded me that I really need to start getting out and taking advantage of all the beauty this state offers. I have little ones but they are now getting big enough to take on short, easy hikes to enjoy nature.

Thanks for the reminder that there is lots of free fun right in my own backyard!

Anytime you can spend time outside not only will it be inexpensive, but a great day. Nothing beats being active outside or just sitting around enjoying the fresh air and taking in the day.

That is something I really miss about my hometown – lots of trees and parks with trails. Where I live now there is more farming and agriculture – less trees, more wide open spaces. Harder to get lost in your thoughts here.

I love the outdoors! Even in the dead of winter (like it is here) my son and I like to go out and play in the snow. It’s good for the body, mind and spirit. And easy on the wallet.

Great post! You forgot to mention, though, that the day you went hiking you saved yourself money, in doctor bills.
