If you are paid via direct deposit, you can ask your employer if they can split your paycheck into two direct deposits. 17% of my paycheck goes into my online savings account and the remaining 83% into my regular checking account. The two accounts are not with the same bank, and the savings is left to grow out of sight and mind. The three days to transfer money for a significant purchase is a good "waiting" period to make sure I really need what I'm buying.
