I refuse to throw out my current leather couches (a freecycle) even though the seat is ripped in two different places. The rip is horrible. But I won’t throw out the couch because I can just cover it with a blanket and no one can see it.

I also pick up pennies on the ground, roll them, and cash them in often.

I would love to read this book.

We reuse toilet paper. Well, it’s cloth toilet paper and we only use it for #1, but it gets washed with the diapers and reused.

I’m always in the search of new ways to be stingy, I mean cheap, I mean frugal.

Seriously, all of the major furniture in our home, couch, bed, crib, table, chairs was free, mostly trash-picked. Frugality gives me a rush and I’m always looking for pointers.

My wife says I can pinch a penny so hard it screams. She says that even though I am stingy she is glad. 10 years ago we bought our house on foreclosure. I low balled it so bad our buyers agent and my wife were mad at me. They told me I would loose the house. But guess what the bank accepted the first offer. It made me think I should have offered less.

Help me get my wife pissed off at me again, let me win this book! PLEASE!!!!

I recently spent a weekend with friends who consider a car payment a normal expense. I was excited and telling them about about my “new” car that is 12 years old, and was so happy with the deal we got on it. They weren’t nearly as excited as I was about it, and couldn’t understand why I didn’t want to get something brand new – and the payments that come with it.

I’ve dug up plants and put in pots taken inside and kept warm, replanted outdoors following yr to save on outdoor flowers. I was careful and it worked.

I reuse tea bags. I can get almost three decent cups of tea from one bag.

I am forever “borrowing” electronics from retailers. Pack it all back up the way it was, and assure them you never opened it.

On a side note, on ANY issue that I have when dealing with a suspect discount at a retailer–if and whenever necessary, if I get loud and obnoxious enough, I always get my way. Even if they give in just to get me to shut up.
