I agree, a statement credit would have been much more effective. But they were probably going after some kind of customer appreciate thing... If a customer sees the cash in hand, then they appreciate their cell phone company more because they took the time to send them cash. A statement credit probably would have been ignored or missed by most people. I do get upset when one of our credit card companies keeps sending us extra correspondence. Usually in the form of checks we can use to get further into debt (at least thats how I see it).
