She said $300, then she asked if I had insurance. I said no. She said the price then was $150. I get discounts at my regular doctor, too, because he knows I have no insurance. It helps to mention these things!

I needed to wear a heart monitor for 24 hours last month. I called for the price. I have always suspected that health service providers have lots of wiggle room because of the statements I get from the insurance company. I usually see an "adjustment" which the insurance company has negotiated for a certain procedure. This adjustment has been over 50%! Why should individuals not get a little break, too?

Great suggestion!
