BofA Cards Give You Free Admission To Museums During May.

If you happen to have a Bank of America credit or debit card, they are offering free admission to over 85 museums in May. I just looked at the area around where I live and there are 6 listed that we can go to for free. Pretty cool…just thought I would mention it. The promotion is good for 2 people, so make a date of it and don’t tell the date it was free :-)

‘Cha-Ching’ – The Quicken Killer For Mac?

chachingannouncing.jpg

OK so I did not coin that phrase about being the killer of Quickens…but I thought it was pretty funny, so there. Anyways, this morning I was reading about Cha-Ching from Midnight Apps on one of my favorite Apple sites, TUAW, and this thing looks like a good little personal finance application for people that do not need all the bells and whistles of Quicken. Honestly, there is so much in Quicken I cannot imagine most people needing software that robust; I used to use it before BofA started hosting my portfolio online and while it served me well, it was a little overdone. But Cha-Ching looks like it could be a home run if you are looking for a simple but well designed and fully featured money program.

Thursday Morning Money – No Sleep Edition

Turns out I did quite a lot of snoring last night; enough, in fact, that my wife went and slept on the couch for 3 hours in the middle of it. Strange, as I don’t really snore (according to her)…but I feel very tired today. What does this have to do with anything? Nothing, just felt like sharing. Here are some of my favorite posts from the last couple of days:

I Will Teach You To Be Rich has a message for marketers with useless messages.

Blueprint For Financial Responsibility has an interesting post about furniture quality and the “three tiers”. Check out the comments as well.

So, where do you keep YOUR money?

I received an email this weekend asking about good places to have financial accounts, as the emailer was not sure what investment companies were good, bad or ugly. So I wanted to write out this list about where we keep our money for various things like retirement, emergency funds, etc and hope it answers some of his questions.
