Sunday Money Roundup – On The Train Again.

We are doing it again this year – hitting the road for the holiday on an Amtrak train! We are going from Albuquerque to Chicago to Boston and back, over the span of a few weeks. That’s the benefit of both working for yourself and having a wife who is a teacher – we both get a lot of time off. We leave in a few days, and if there is any interest I will post about our trip again like I did last year. In the meantime, on to the roundup…

Sunday Money Roundup – View From The Home Office Edition.

So, we are finally “settled” (I use the term very loosely) into our new house and figuring out where everything goes. One of the first rooms I got set up is my home office, which I was very excited about because of this view out of the gigantic picture window:

Sunday Money Roundup – Cracked Windshield Edition.

Turns out the insurance guy was right – we would end up with a cracked windshield within our first 6 months of living here! He called it, and now I have it. Luckily he convinced me to pay the extra $20 a year to have full windshield replacement coverage with no deductible, so I will be doing that next week. Best $20 I have ever spent! On to the roundup…

Tip’d.com Formally Launches With New Features.

tipd

Today marks the formal launch of Tip’d, the social bookmarking site for financial news and stories. You might remember that I wrote about them back in October for their beta launch, but they have finally come out of beta with a slew of new features that will make it easier to use:

  • A topple button (and formula for when a story gets toppled) now works
    as it should.
  • Private messaging
  • Users have 3 minutes to edit story after submission
  • 2 new categories created (business and entrepreneurship)
  • Tip It button now has its own server (which means it won’t slow
    down anything)
