Update On That Free Cup Of Starbucks Coffee – Now Everyone Gets One.

Remember yesterday when I said that Starbucks is giving out free coffee to customers who said they voted today? Well, My Two Dollars reader Eric had this to say in the comments of that article:

Starbucks halted its plan to give voters free coffee Tuesday after concerns surfaced that the promotion could violate election laws.

After launching the promotion with great fanfare, Starbucks spokeswoman Valerie O’Neil said in an email late Monday that the coffee chain changed its plans. “To ensure we are in compliance with election law, we are extending our offer to all customers who request a tall brewed coffee,” O’Neil said in an email.

Free Cup Of Starbucks Coffee If You Vote Tomorrow.

Starbucks is giving every person who votes a free tall cup of coffee tomorrow from 8am to 10pm:

What if we all cared enough to vote?

Not just 54% of us, but 100% of us?

What if we cared as much on Nov. 5th as we care on Nov. 4th?

What if we cared all of the time the way we care some of the time?

What if we cared when it was inconvenient as much as we care when it’s convenient?

Would your community be a better place?

Would our country be a better place?

Festival Of Frugality #144 – The Host Bailed Out Edition.

Sorry for the delayed posting of this, but the person who was scheduled to host today’s Festival of Frugality #144 bailed out at the last minute. So while this will be a bare-bones effort here, I would appreciate if all of you who were included would link back to the Festival; it’s the only way these things work and it is a requirement. Thanks to everyone who submitted this week!

How To Frugally Decorate Your House On A Very Tight Budget.

Although I don’t really care too much about having designer this or fashionable that in my house, we do like to live comfortably within our means, and we are not above buying used furniture to accommodate our lifestyle! Over the years we have bought used tables and lamps at consignment shops and garage sales, saving ourselves a ton of money in the process. Why buy a new hardwood dining table at a store like Pottery Barn, when you might be able to get something just as well made (or better) second hand? It’s wood and nails – no need to buy new if you don’t need to! So giving some thought to decorating your house on a budget, I put together this list of places to check out before your next shopping trip!
