Earlier this week I started a giveaway for a copy of “Nobody Wants a Million Dollars: How to View Money as a Personal Finance Tool Instead of a Life Goal by Dan Holt, and readers had the rest of the week until this morning to leave a comment on the post to gain an entry. ” and I somehow lost track of it. I only just discovered the book again a few weeks ago when rearranging the bookshelf in my office to clear out space for some new books I was expecting in the mail. So, I sat down one afternoon and read through the book, and most everything in the book made sense to me. The author, Dan Holt, makes his point by saying that money is only a tool, not a goal – “Nobody wants a million dollars”. I have been writing about personal finance for almost 3 years now, and I preach the same type of thing; that happiness will not and never will come from having money. If all you are doing in life is constantly chasing the almighty dollar and trying to increase the size of your bank account at any cost, you are just asking for a big letdown.
