Please Do Your Part And Vote Tomorrow, November 4th.

Please, make sure you vote tomorrow. Vote on your lunch break. Leave work early and vote. Stop in and vote on your way to work in the morning. This is one of the most important elections in history and every vote counts. Whether you are voting for my candidate or not, please make your voice heard. You cannot complain if you do not vote, and your candidate needs every vote they can get – Don’t believe any poll numbers suggesting otherwise.

Here are some very important things to keep in mind as you prepare, show up at the polls and/or have any problems casting a vote:

A New Economic Agenda I Can 99% Agree With.

I was reading the latest issue of Kiplinger’s and came across an article by Knight Kiplinger, Editor in Chief of the magazine, that laid out what his thoughts were on a new economic agenda. I so rarely agree with these guys on issues like this because most of them lean right and I tend to lean left. So without further ado, here is a a very shortened version of his ideas for a new economic agenda, along with my thoughts on each.

House Passes $630B Spending Bill; Pet Project Earmarks Galore Inside.

No, I am not talking about the bailout – I am talking about the spending bill that the House passed yesterday worth some $650 billion dollars that starts up October 1 to keep the government running. No one is really mentioning it because we are too focused on watching the economy collapse. While expenditures for defense were high as usual ($488 billion), one thing in the bill in particular caught my eye – a $25 billion dollar loan to the auto industry. Yep, we have now bailed out the auto industry – another private company that has no business receiving your tax dollars. But they did it anyway, on both sides of the aisle. And you know those earmarks everyone talks about? Well, this bill contains a crapload of them from Democrats and Republicans alike. Yet Another Case Of The Government Wasting Your Money.

A recent article from CNN says that the Government Accountability Office has “lost track” of at least $6 Billion that we have given Pakistan to fight terror. They have no idea where the money went, except for this little gem:

The GAO found that Pakistan received about $3.7 million each year for to operate a fleet of fewer than 20 vehicles for the country’s Navy.
