Garage Sale Advertising Tips – 7 Best Places to Advertise Yard Sales

Garage sales are a staple around where I live. Every Saturday and Sunday (and often Friday, too) here in Southern California sees a seemingly unending amount of people selling their belongings in their driveways or front yards. Whether they need the extra money or are just looking to clean out their attic, one could spend 10 hours each weekend day perusing used goods at these sales. When I was a kid, my family had them as well, but the only way that anyone found out about them was from a couple of signs posted up in our neighborhood. Since there was no internet, interested parties had to drive around looking for these signs in order to find out where the sales were. But nowadays (man that makes me sound old) there are plenty of ways to advertise your own garage sale and thus ensuring that you get a crowd — that hopefully takes away all your unwanted “stuff”. Let’s take a look at a few of these methods.

How to Make Money Recycling Paper, Plastic, Cans & Scrap Metal

Looking for a little extra income? Willing to put in quite a lot of work for a potentially small payday? Start recycling items for cash. While the most common (and most-well known) way to recycle for money is by turning in aluminum beer and soda cans or plastic water bottles, there are actually a bunch of different products that can be recycled into money in your pocket. In these economic times every little bit counts, so I figured I would put a post together about the ways you can start recycling to put some scratch into your bank account. Let’s take a look at a few of them…

Where to Sell Your Used College Textbooks Online For Cash – 10 Best Places & Sites

I hate to really age myself, but when I was in college we only had one place to try to sell our textbooks – the same exact store we bought it from in the first place. And that store, of course, was the school bookstore. Yes, I was in college before the internet was as widespread as it is now, and I didn’t even send my first email until the second half of my senior year. And it was only to the guy sitting across from me in the computer lab! But let’s get back to the textbooks. Back then, the bookstore bought and sold all the books we would need for the year, and you were lucky if you got back any of your money at the end of class. The internet has changed that game, though, and now there are tons of options for both saving money on purchasing your books as well as selling them to other students looking for a deal on a used textbook.

Total Money Made On Ebay In Last Two Weeks? $493

I enjoy putting a few bucks in my bank account as much as the next guy (or gal). But what I enjoy even more is putting a few bucks back in that I didn’t have to do any work for! You may remember that on February 21 I said that I had sold my original 2G iPhone for over $200. Well, that sale fell through because Ebay claimed that the buyer was fraudulent – and thus I had to relist the item. I am happy to report, though, that I ended up selling it for over $250 this time. Since I only paid $200 for it a few years ago, I not only made my money back but I also made a nice little profit. Not bad for about 10 minutes of filling out forms, huh? But I didn’t stop there, as I have been on a selling spree in order to rid my house of all unused clutter. I have sold $493 worth of stuff in the last 2 weeks and I couldn’t be happier about it.

Making Money: Almost Everything In Your House Has Value To Someone Else.

I am opening every single box, plastic storage tub, closet, and cabinet this week in order to sell of some of my belongings. This is not because I need the money (although the money will be nice) – it’s because I just have too much stuff. I thought I did a good job of purging before I moved 4 months ago, but I am finding more and more items that are not bringing any value to my life…so out the door they are going! It truly is amazing what we accumulate slowly over time or what kinds of things we think we “need” when in reality we “need” very little – the rest ends up being stuffed in a closet or left to collect dust being on display. Saturday I started with my office closet and was able to thin it out considerably. While my office is always clutter-free, the same doesn’t go for the closet…until now. Here is what I pulled out of that closet to get rid of:
